PAUL'S VISION
Paul believes in giving back to his community and in public service. This is a belief and passion he applies to his work on the Board of Regents. Paul knows that the University of Michigan is on of the elite institutions in the world with a great capacity for achieving developments in science, technology, and medicine, as well as the ability to shape the minds of future generations. Paul’s vision is to make these possibilities a reality, working to ensure that students across our state and country have access to the opportunity of a University of Michigan education.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Expanding access to higher education: Paul was proud to support the establishment of the Go Blue Guarantee, making a world-class education available free of charge for families earning under $125,000 annually.

Strengthening Regional and Statewide Economic Impact: As the largest employer in Michigan, Paul is proud to work with University leadership to grow the positive economic impact of the university.

Standing with workers: As a former union member himself, Paul is proud to have stood with the workers on campus, adding new members to local chapters. Paul's 7 years on the board represent the largest increase in union success in the history of the university. Paul helped to pass a pro-union neutrality policy pertaining to the formation of new unions. The % of UM employees who are union members has doubled from 26% to 50%, leading to increases in pay for our workers which have outpaced other groups.
